Taiwan’s consumer confidence fell for the sixth consecutive month in October amid signs that the domestic economy continues to weaken, a survey conducted by National Central University indicated Tuesday, CNA reported. The survey was conducted at a time when many economists and think tanks believe it will be hard for Taiwan to maintain gross domestic product growth of 1% for 2015 as a whole amid slowing global demand. According to the survey, Taiwan’s consumer confidence index fell 0.72 points in October from a month earlier to 84.60, the index’s sixth consecutive monthly decline, but the latest fall was smaller than a month-on-month 0.83 point fall recorded in September.
